Birth Control and STD
There is a common misconception out there that is that birth control can help prevent the spread of STD’s. The truth is that only certain types of birth control can help reduce the spread of STD’s
Condoms, if used properly, can help reduce the spread of STD. If you are having “safe sex” than you are using condoms, which are the only form of birth control that helps prevent pregnancy and helps prevent the spread of STD’s. Other forms of birth control, such as spermicide, and diaphragms only help prevent pregnancy and will not protect you against STD’s. While condoms are not 100%, they are the best bet for having safer sex.
