Interesting Statistics About STD’s

STD’s continue to afflict the youth of today unnecessarily. Currently 1 in 2 youths will be diagnosed with an STD before the age of 25, and currently 1 in 4 teen girls has an STD.

Here are some interesting statistics from the CDC:

-Over 19 million new cases of STD occur each year.

-Almost half of the people who contract an STD are under the age of 25.

-More that 1.5 million new cases of gonorrhea and chlamydia were reported in 2008.

-The five most sexually transmitted diseases are chlamydia, gonorrhea, AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis B.

If any of these facts got you thinking that you might have an STD, you should get checked. It is also always a good idea to get tested annually.
