Just One Sexual Partner Can Lead to STD’s
A common myth with Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD’s) is that people contract them from having multiple sex partners. Although individuals who have multiple partners are at higher risk for contracting and STD, an individual with only one partner can also contract an STD. It only takes one sexual encounter to contract an STD. This is why it is so important to discuss sexual history with any person you have sexual contact with.
Before starting a new sexual relationship, it is always a good idea to go in for partner STD testing. This will protect both people in the relationship. Practicing this with all of your sexual partners will lead to a healthy sexual lifestyle.
If you are already in a sexual relationship with someone and you did not get tested in the beginning of the relationship, it is not too late to go in for testing. Remember it only takes one sexual exposure to contract any STD.
